Winning The Whitehouse And Taking Back The Congress: Part II! Gallup Now Proves It’s Possible!

This is an update of a post I did a couple weeks ago before the polls caught up to my thinking. I might add that I was ridiculed and ignored when I posted the first installment of this. I guess the worm has turned as I predicted…hmmm!

Gallup has now proven that the dire predictions of the imminent doom of the Republican Party are not only premature, to the contrary, the opposite is truly possible!

I would add that those dire predictions have been used as an excuse for the sorry leadership the Republican Party has gotten from Congressman Tom Cole at the NRCC, John Ensign at the NRSC and Chairman of the RNC Mike Duncan.

It is my not so humble opinion that given the facts as they currently exist on the ground; if the Republican Party does not win back control of the Congress; if the Republican Party does not put John McGenius and Saracuda in the White House; if the Republican Party loses a single seat in either house of Congress: it will not be because the Democrats won anything, or because this is traditionally an election that favors the party out of the White House! It will not be because the American People rejected Conservatism or all the other mind numbing excuses to do nothing….it will be because of the tin ears of those we have in leadership!

The blame will lie exclusively with those I’ve mentioned in Party and Congressional Leadership and with the McCain Campaign because of the atmosphere of pessimism that has been birthed by the left of center Washington elite of both parties and trumpeted by the so called objective press!

I’m sick of the Conventional wisdom that the Republican Party is doomed to lose in a landslide because it’s always been that way! This is an atmosphere I might add that has been nursed lovingly by the weasels in Republican leadership who refuse to do anything to change their sorry condition in the hopes that they can escape the blame for the debacle they have created! Well…I’ve got news for them…it ain’t gonna fly if I have any say about it!

According to an article from Gallup detailing a dramatic change in the polls just before John McGenius announced his stunningly brilliant selection of Sarah Palin for VPOTUS.:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/110263/Battle-Congress-Suddenly-Looks-Competitive.aspx
First, prior to the Republican Convention:

Quote:
A potential shift in fortunes for the Republicans in Congress is seen in the latest USA Today/Gallup survey, with the Democrats now leading the Republicans by just 3 percentage points, 48% to 45%, in voters' "generic ballot" preferences for Congress. This is down from consistent double-digit Democratic leads seen on this measure over the past year.

That’s within the margin of error folks…and it shows a proclivity of voters to vote for the Republican on an almost equal footing with that to vote for the Democrat. And again, That’s before the Republican VP was announced prior to the convention and the specific candidates do or say anything such as what I suggested in my earlier post

After the Republican Convention?

Quote:
The positive impact of the GOP convention on polling indicators of Republican strength is further seen in the operation of Gallup's "likely voter" model in this survey. Republicans, who are now much more enthused about the 2008 election than they were prior to the convention, show heightened interest in voting, and thus outscore Democrats in apparent likelihood to vote in November. As a result, Republican candidates now lead Democratic candidates among likely voters by 5 percentage points, 50% to 45%.

If these numbers are sustained through Election Day -- a big if -- Republicans could be expected to regain control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

As Gallup's long-term "generic ballot" trend shows, the Democrats held a sizable lead on this measure from the time they won back control of Congress in the fall of 2006 through last month. <strong>If the current closer positioning of the parties holds, the structure of congressional preferences will be similar to most of the period from 1994 through 2005, when Republicans won and maintained control of Congress.</strong>

Congress’s current approval rating of 18%, (up from 9% recently) which is unheard of in the history of polling, signals an anti incumbent sentiment that could sweep Republicans back into power in breathtaking numbers if this is played right.

It get’s even better! Gallup’s most recent poll shows that only 36% of voters believe their specific member of Congress should be reelected. That, my friends, is way below the 51% or more that existed in 1994 and 2006.

So…Tom Cole, John Ensign and Mike Duncan…You’ve been given the Ried, Pelosi, Obama triumvirate’s heads on a platter. In fact, they’re on the platter despite you! The question now is…what will you do with this opportunity? Are we going to continue whining that Republicans should run for the hills this election cycle? Can we expect even more proclamations from Cole that this is a Democrat year and Republicans will be lucky if they only lose seats in the single digits? Can we expect another pity party from John Ensign because his Senate Colleagues refuse to open up their checkbooks to help those currently up for reelection in the Senate…or are we going to fight to win which is what you were put in leadership to do in the first place?!

Ohh and John McCain…Giving credit where credit is due…Since you have shaken this election to it’s core with unapologetic conservative performances at Saddleback and with your unapologetic pick of a Reaganite Governor to share your ticket…AND...Since Independents are moving your way in spite of…or because of these performances…are you really going to ruin it with talk of appointing Democrats to your Cabinet….or signing on to the gang of 16 capitulation to the Democrats on drilling? Will you be out there trumpeting how great it would be to saddle this economy with global cap and trade legislation? Or will you stick with the one that brought you to the ball and win this thing for all of us?

Hurricanes JackAss, Katrina and Ike and why we are getting worse off

By Mike DeVine, Legal Editor (with voluminous excerpts from StephC of Hillbilly politics)

In the aftermath of the failures of hope, change, messiah impersonations and lipstick on pigs, the Obama campaign has decided to re-cast The One as The Gipper by asking America this question :

“Are you better off now than you were four or eight years ago?”

Before venturing into StephC’s (aka hillbilly) cornucopia of wisdom (in blockquotes below) that re-frames the better question of When did we stop being better off?, let’s look at the domestic and foreign political landscape of 1980 when Ronaldus Magnus first posed his four-year question to the incumbent president.

The Democratic Party had held congress for the previous 16 years and the White House for the previous four. This is key, so remember it.

The Congress had abandoned the anti-communist South Vietnamese army while they were winning the war an almost impeached republican president had turned around before resigning over an unauthorized third rate burglary he covered up. President Carter turned loose the Islamic and Communist, dawgs from Hell in Tehran and Afghanistan, respectively, with his recitations of our “inordinate fear of communism” and the Ayatollah Khomeini was “a religious man I can work with” as he abandoned the Shah. Soviet tanks rolled unencumbered by any fear they would be checked by any action save for less RSVPs for track meets.

A new economic statistic called the “misery index” had to be invented to fully translate what is still the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. Interest rates and inflation were mean 20% while unemployment neared 105. And Joe Biden was around to support moratoriums and/or regulations that have prevented the building of any new nuclear power or oil refinery plants and which have prevented the expansion of areas available for oil/natural gas on US soil of offshore since 1978.

Since Obama was only 12-15 years old when Democrats committed the above crimes against the United States, he is able to commune with them in good conscious.

Fast forward to present day (post defeat of the USSR by Republicans and a few Dem boll weevils in the Cold War) America and its near full employment and low interest rates; a decimated al Qaeda with terrorists fleeing defeat in a post three elections Iraq; and Roberts and Alito on a Supreme Court one vote shy of ending the slaughter of small human beings in the millions.

Eight years ago, faced with a tech bubble hangover from the Clinton years, President Bush and a Republican Congress passed tax rate cuts that nipped that recession in the bud and prevented one following the attacks of September 11th. After suffering multiple terrorist attacks in the 1990s, there has been no successful terrorist attack on American soil since that fateful day seven years ago.

No thanks to Democrats in Congress, including Obama and Biden. And even Hillary voted against funds for the troops and called General Petraeus a liar. Remember that “liar” word, for it weighs heavy on the ways in which hillbilly Steph describes when we stated to be worse off.

And while Democrats can claim no credit for the economic prosperity of this decade that has overall and minority homeownership still at record levels nor for the success of the surge that has overall victory in Iraq in sight, they sure do own most of the blame for our problems that have so many worse off.

Democrats who stopped expanded oil drilling/nuclear-oil refinery plant construction from 1980-2000 via Speakers Tip O’Neil and Jim Wright and President Clinton, have defeated all of President Bush’s attempts to revive same staring in 2001 thanks to Senate Majority Leader Daschle, Minority Leader Reid via filibusters, and Speaker Pelosi, the later despite extreme suffering by low-income families and all businesses that threatens the health of our economy.

It is Democrat created Maes (Fannie and Freddie) that are crumbling under the rubble of a credit/housing crunch partially caused by Democrat legislation and liberal court decisions that make lenders fear lawsuits for race discrimination if they don’t lend to credit challenged borrowers.

So, even before Hurricanes Katrina and Ike devastated the Gulf, Hurricane Jack A*s kicked America in the teeth. In 2004, America rejected Tornado Kerry that spun off the Jack A*s. I will let StephC pick things up from there re:

1) Bushlied

In October of 2004, just a month before the elections, here came the meme, “Bush Lied, People Died.” If he did, so did Clinton and every member of Congress who stood for the war in Iraq but we’re not supposed to remember that. Kerry was getting stomped during the campaigning in spite of women drooling over him. They had to do something and this something was the precursor to the nation not being better off.

With yet another contested election to face, the Democrats also said they don’t recognize Bush as president. They continued the mantra of “Bush Lied, People Died” yet in spite of all the calls to impeach both Bush and Cheney, that’s all the Democrats had because they were the minority in Congress. In 2005, they ramped up the rhetoric against Bush and threw Cheney in as well and along came Katrina which created the perfect storm against Bush and Cheney.

2) Katrina

We all took an economic hit from Katrina. Gas prices soared because of the damage to wells in the Gulf, which had the domino effect of prices for everything going up. Money was tighter and we were still in the long war so the “Bush Lied, People Died” mantra worked in this gloomy scenario aided by the disaster that was Katrina. This couldn’t be helped and by the time prices were at pre-Katrina levels, it was too late.

Another by-product of Katrina was a greater amount of illegal immigration as they saw an opportunity to make loads of money and came in droves to fill up labor and construction jobs on the Gulf. Illegal immigration has always been something of a problem, even more so after 9/11, but Katrina was the straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak.

We couldn’t absorb them into other jobs and the economic hit from having to deal with them on top of everything else just added to the Democrats’ gleeful meme of doom and gloom, although at the time the illegal aliens weren’t identified publicly as a big problem. I know this because my husband, being in construction was discussing with his boss whether they would be sending anyone to the Gulf to help with clean up when suddenly they were all told, they weren’t needed because crews were coming from Mexico. They came to make some quick money, but then, they stayed.

3) Democrats control Congress for last two years

The Democrats win Congress with their memes and that’s the turning point towards South. In the early months we didn’t see a lot of difference except for the fight against wholesale amnesty for untold numbers of illegal aliens. But then, Al Gore won an Oscar for his Global Warming scam which has profited him and anyone in it the scam with him but no one else. States raised taxes and the only real legislation that Congress has done in the last almost two full years, now, is mandates for ethanol and a host of other environmental indignities that have done nothing but take money out of our pockets because the price of basic foods went through the roof at an enormous pace. In addition, global demand for oil has risen as China has entered the global economy as a major player. So, gas prices go up as ever slave to the law of supply and demand.

While global warming mandates had already brought about a price increase in basic foodstuffs, also tied to the law of supply and demand, the increase in fuel prices made a bad situation worse. By the way, they still haven’t impeached Bush and Cheney and there’s a good reason why. It might make a good campaign slogan but there’s not much meat in it and that’s all they have. Impeachment hearings would bring out the fact that they all saw the same intelligence that Bush had and also the fact that 4 of the 5 components which Saddam was accused of possessing were found. Instead of wondering where the 5th component went to, it was more politically expedient to say Bush lied.

Oh, and gasoline isn’t the only thing that comes from a barrel of oil. Nor diesel. Something we take for granted every day comes from those barrels of oil: plastics. Everything we use on a daily basis has some plastic parts attached to it: home and cell phones, household appliances, computers, the knobs on your kitchen stove, and more. Some fabrics are made with nylon, a byproduct of oil as well. Vaseline is called petroleum jelly in its generic name… key word: petroleum. Some cosmetics are made using petroleum jelly as the base. And more. In short, there is no such creature as oil independence. There’s nothing to replace it in all its forms.

And Congress’ more open government? Well, since the Democratic majority, Congress has attempted to slip through all sorts of legislation without informing the public about what they’re doing and have subjected the other side of the aisle to indignities of all kinds, yet, complain about partisanship. Earmarks that were considered out of control before are now the norm. Between entitlements and earmarks we’re bankrupting the country and that’s a fact. And the Democrats promise more of the same. I read somewhere or heard somewhere that for every dollar put in for subsidized health care only 4 cents of it is actually spent on the health care.

That’s something for you proponents of government universal healthcare to think about. It may be expensive now but the government is going to give you only 4% of what you pay in. You may well find entire paychecks swallowed into universal healthcare at which point many will wonder why they work at all.

So, our government has thrown us into the global warming scam which has trapped us financially and ramped up earmarks, besides. They have passed legislation to bail out banks and mortgage companies who made bad business decisions. Case in point, Bank of America, which decided sometime early last year they were going to extend credit to illegal aliens. Those illegal aliens don’t have the same obligations that ordinary citizens do and just walked away from those obligations and left the rest of us to foot the bill. But Congress has the answer!!! Bail them out and let one of the bailees write the legislation.

So, Barack, you may try and jip the Gip, but I doubt you will be heard above the dins of your 20-year pew-parked in a Hate Whitey America Church while living in a house bought with funds from Saddam’s regime via Chicago Way Felon Rezko and a political career launched with Chicago Way Felon Unrepentant Terrorist Ayers.

You and Biden are part and parcel of the reasons we started to get worse off with your bushlied, terrorists rights bills that seek to handcuff the Commander in Chief in intelligence gathering and opposition to victory in Iraq.

I suspect that your impersonation of Reagan will fall as flat as your Jesus mime. But I know one or two characters that you could successfully mimic:

George McGovern and Michael Dukakis.

Gamecock is of Ace Ilk

I want to thank one of the best bloggers and conservative minds on the web for inviting me to post at Me and My Ilk. This native South Carolinian currently domiciled in the Tar Heel State has admired Texas since I saw Yosemite Sam's limo on Bugs Bunny and have admired Aces since my first hand of poker with my now deceased Little League Mom, who also wore pit bull lipstick of the Palin variety in the 1960s.

I am a bit tired tonight, but let me say that as a former Democrat until my conservative epiphany upon moving to Atlanta in 2000, I believe God is giving me my Reagan to enjoy in Sarah Palin. I am a rabid right wing convert with zeal, but despite my policy differences in the past with John McCain, he not only has shown the capacity to listen and change since he lost the amnesty debate, he hit a Grand Slam by going to Alaska and choosing an unapologetic Reaganite Governor to succeed him as the 45th President President of United States, all the while driving a stake thru the PC MSM leftist feminist myth concerning women and Christians in the GOP.

God bless America and Aces in Texas

Roger Simon of Politico In A Snit: "Why The Media Should Apologize" To Governor Palin?

I read the Following article at Politico and just had to reply: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13143.html (Why the media should apologize)

I thought this was a joke at the beginning of the column. I thought it was a parody of the Leftist arguments in defense of their despicable treatment of Governor Palin. It turns out it’s a juvenile and amateurish attempt at a serious response to Republican complaints of desperate attacks on Governor Palin by the so called “objective media”.

Sadly, it is a textbook example of obfuscation and straw man arguments that attempts to answer arguments from critics that have never been made by a slavish press who has sold it’s soul to the Obama Campaign.

First off…the straw man. “Republicans are saying the press shouldn’t ask questions about, ’who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?’”

We’ve made no such arguments…particularly concerning the first three questions…I want to hear more from the so called “Objective Press” on these questions and would applaud such discussion.

Where questions about her experience are concerned…I’d also like to apply the same question to the person who is running for the #1 position on the Democrat Ticket as opposed to the person who is running for the # 2 position on the Republican Ticket.

Since the press has finally acknowledged that experience does indeed matter and Governor Palin is disqualified due to inexperience because she’s a heartbeat away from being President…Why isn’t it being asked if a person with, at best, no more experience than Governor Palin is qualified not only to be a heartbeat away…but to in fact be President?

The case is that much stronger if you consider the type of experience of both candidates since the person running for #2 has been an executive when the person running for #1 has not! So by all means Mr. Simon…ask the questions but please apply the same standards to both Tickets.

As to whether you should have “stuck to the warm, human interest stuff” about Governor Palin? Well…where are they?

There have been no end of human interest stories about Barack Obama for over a year. Governor Palin has an interesting story. Several bylines could be followed but we don’t see a single one….yet we’ve been spoon fed stories about Barack Obama’s bio and the swooning of followers at his rallies since before this campaign began.

Then Simon fills out the rest of his childish rant with the following straw man rhetorical questions:

Simon: “…we should have stuck to the press release stuff like how she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (after she supported it).”

Well, yeah…you should have…I don’t like what it says about the Governor…and I believe her explanation for why it worked out that way…but it’s a legitimate story and completely within bounds. NO Republican that I’ve heard has objected to this question or about her accepting contributions from Stevens cronies when she ran for Lt Governor. ( I note Mr. Simon is apparently too uninformed to ask that question in this piece) But Simon and the “so called Objective Press” aren’t asking those questions…they’re parroting the KOS Clowns questions about who’s been pregnant with what baby!

From Simon: “…we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like when The Washington Post recently wrote: “Palin is under investigation by a bipartisan state legislative body. … Palin had promised to cooperate with the legislative inquiry, but this week she hired a lawyer to fight to move the case to the jurisdiction of the state personnel board, which Palin appoints.”

Uh Huh….you should absolutely be going after these stories because they are legitimate. I haven’t heard a single Republican complain about these stories being told, maybe because there are so few of them…though we have complained that the so called “Objective Press” has never pointed out who was bringing forth these charges and initiating these investigation

At risk of sounding petty, I’ll point out the press never fails to provide cover for high profile Democrats by pointing out those who’ve made any charge against a Democrat as “disgruntled former employees” or “members of the right wing attack machine”…All we’d ask is a little balance…and the same details for our candidates...but never mind….we’re used to it…we can take it.

Oh…and it might be a good idea to look into the Mob connected politics in Chicago and the largess heaped upon Barack Obama by the convicted felon Tony Rezco…his ties to Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, and Luis Farrakhan to balance things out…but we won’t hold our breath Mr. Simon.

Finally…the crybaby snit Simon get’s in that we think the candidate’s family should be out of bounds.

First off…The biggest thing that burns Republican britches is the question being asked repeatedly by the so called “Objective Press” if Governor Palin can be an effective mother and VP at the same time.

Would Mr. Simon ask the same question were this a Democrat Candidate for VP? Isn’t that a little presumptuous and a snide question to be asked by the Cocktail circuit? Should she be staying home and baking cookies? What would Mr. Simon’s reaction be if this were a question being asked of a successful Democrat woman by Rush Limbaugh…Hmmm? I’m guessing one could likely peruse his earlier ramblings in print and find out!

Secondly…Mr. Simon and the tea sipping, raised pinky crowd have been arguing for months that Michelle Obama should be off limits even though she’s been out there in public…making speeches and controversial statements. But now Governor Palin’s Husband is fair game for a 22 year old DUI charge when he’s stayed out of the public eye and avoided the campaign trail.

On top of that…a 17 year old girl get’s pregnant and the Press has seen fit to question Governor Palin’s effectiveness as a mother when I doubt very seriously she encouraged her daughter to go out and engage in premarital sex!

Oh…and they ran with reports on 9/3/2008 that Governor Palin has been in an extra marital affair with no substantiation, and questioned how effective she could be as VP as the mother of a special needs child…and so on and so on…

Add to that the fact that Governor Palin’s phone number and social security numbers have been leaked to the press and distributed in the leftist blogosphere and I think we can make a good case why we’re so DXXXED ticked off at the behavior of the press this last week!

Well Mr. Simon…Id compliment you for your excellent writing and reasoning skills if you had any….but I can’t find a good reason to. Frankly it irritates me to no end that such an intellectual lightweight can, not only, make a career out of writing this vapid and empty drivel but continuously be invited around the talk show circuit to display your inferior wit and insights!

As for making the case you attempt in this article…good luck with that…if this is all the formerly great “Objective Press” can come up with…Republicans should have a grand time all the way up to inauguration day!

Winning The Whitehouse And Taking Back The Congress: Is It Possible? I think it is and here’s how it could be done!

On McCain:

Republicans should be stressing the following:

1)Experience in spades at the top of the ticket overshadowing Obama’s relative inexperience.

2) Point out all the great things the NY times ever wrote about him and continue to beat the drums of media bias exposing the fact that the MSM is now saying the opposite of what they used to about McCain.

3) Emphasize the fact that he’s not the same old Republican Candidate. “He takes on his Party regularly when he thinks they’re wrong!” Be careful here because too much of this could alienate the base

On Sarah Palin:

Recognize the Dummycrats wouldn't be going to the depths they're going if she wasn't a real threat...in just 5 days we've had 5 different lines of attack and they keep looking for more. To defend against them:

1)Sarah is inexperienced:

a) Start by saying, “Thank you for finally acknowledging that experience matters!”
b) Point out, “She’s running for VP, why are you giving more weight to her inexperience than you are to the person running at the top of the ticket on the other side…shouldn’t the person running for President be at least as experienced as Sarah?

2) Her son is not hers it's her daughter's and Sarah faked her pregnancy:

a) “Break out the tin foil hats…Are you kidding me?”
b) “What a despicable assertion?”
c) Is this what the Democrats have become?”

3)Her daughter is pregnant so what kind of mother is she:

a) “She’s the kind of Mother/Parent that we all are. She’s done everything she can to raise her children right and to protect them from the harsh realities of this world. At the end of the day, our children make decisions that have consequences…I pray that you never face the same circumstances if and when you have a 17 year old to deal with!”

4) She's too busy as a mother to attend to her duties as VP:

a) “As opposed to Obama who has two children? How can he be a good father if he becomes President?
b) “If that’s the issue, what about the other presidents that had young children in the White House like JFK…or Lincoln?”
c) “Does Michelle stay home and bake cookies for them? I don’t think so!”
d) “What about all the other professional women out there with children…should they quit their careers?”
e) “I am woman…here me whimper!”

5) The latest is that she wasn't properly vetted as perpetrated by the NY Slimes:

a)“OK, so what was missed during this inadequate vetting? That her daughter was pregnant? That she faked her pregnancy to claim her daughter’s child as her own? Good luck with that argument line of attack on her.”

6) "Are Democrats concentrating on the Republican VP because they see her as a threat...or are they concentrating on her because they're afraid of the contrast between McCain's experience and Obama's inexperience? Why are Democrats attacking the number 2 on the ticket.”

<7) Republicans need to stop defending Sarah...she doesn't need defending...but turn the Democrat's attacks back on them...by doing so...they make her stronger and simultaneously tear down Obama with their own arguments! In addition, they expose the Dumbycrats as the hypocrites they plainly are

And Congress:

I know…I know…I’m full of crap because “this is a Democrat year, Republicans are running up hill and will be lucky to hold onto the 40 seats necessary to filibuster a bill and prevent the Dems from having a filibuster proof majority….blah blah blah…”

That’s conventional wisdom and I don’t hold with it. One thing is for sure…as long as we believe that…and act accordingly…this is a self fulfilling prophecy. It also let’s our leadership off the hook and allows them to escape responsibility for the state of the Republican Party…BUT THINGS HAVE CHANGED….

1) McCain has changed the dynamic of this race. His choice of Palin has fired up the base and will ensure heavy turnout from them in November

2) Approval ratings are overwhelmingly against the party in control of the Congress. History has shown the Party in control of Congress loses seats when Congressional approval ratings are approaching 30% and below. This Congress is at or near single digit approval ratings, (the lowest in the history of polling)! There are several polls which show for the first time in history that voters are not only dissatisfied with Congress…but they are dissatisfied with their own member of Congress. From this point forward, Republicans should stop referring to the Congress in generic terms. It should become verboten to mention Congress without saying “the Democrat Congress”. Every reference to the “Democrat Congress” should point out the lack of accomplishments and refer to how little was done to deal with gas prices and to get us off of our dependence on foreign oil.

3) The base is newly energized and excited. Every thing should be done to keep them energized and excited and to get them doing what they do best…man the phones, block walk, knock on doors etc.

Would all this guarantee a sweep back to power in the Executive as well as the legislative branch? Maybe not…but one thing is for sure the Republican Party will fare much better than we will if we continue listening to John Ensign, (Chairman of the NRSC) who thinks Senators should run for the hills if they have an R by their name…or Tom Cole, (Chairman of the NRCC) who recently said ““These [congressional approval] ratings are worse than we had on the eve of losing the majority,”…“Don’t be afraid to say you are disappointed in fellow Republicans.”

It’s time to stop sitting around licking our own backsides and FIGHT! And if Tom Cole and John Ensign can’t find it within themselves to join us…they need to be shown the door!

I for one am making the commitment…How about you?

AceinTXWife Hammers Dems on Recent Attacks On Sarah Palin: Proof AceinTX Married Up in Life

Today my wife emailed me her response to a friend who had filled her inbox with questions about Sarah Palin and the smears coming from the so called agents of tolerance on the left. I’m posting her reply as a perfect reply to the questions surrounding her daughter’s pregnancy and as an example of the response the Dems are getting from those who might not be as politically active as some of us…but who are squarely in the Conservative camp and sick of the double standards applied to Conservatives by the Democrats and the so called objective press.

Quote:
I would like to reverse the ticket and make Gov. Sarah Palin the candidate and John Mc the VP.

Contrary to the liberal intent of the barrage of negative headlines this morning, the “non-news” story about her daughter’s pregnancy makes her very real. The more I learn, the more I like her (despite John McCain, whom I respect for his military service, yet I still find him to be a very lack-luster and disappointing choice for Republican nominee). She is an incredible conservative choice of running mate for McCain.

I jump into this conversation because I’m tired of the inconsistent double standard that the liberals and liberal media hold when it suits them, but since the introduction of Sarah Palin have not held valid because as a conservative, she doesn’t fit the “feminist” mold. My objection & argument to all the criticism of Sarah Palin is Feminists can't have it both ways....

1) They can’t say, on the one hand women should go out and accomplish their goals and dreams...but on the other hand, in Sarah Palin's case she has a Down's baby and that baby needs her so she should stay home.</li>

2) They can’t say, on the one hand she should have the right to choose to abort this child...but on the other hand she doesn’t have the right to give birth to her Down's baby AND be Vice President <em>because</em> she has a child with needs.</li>

3) What about her right to choose to provide a loving home for this child the way she and her husband see fit AND pursue her political career however she aspires?

Where her daughter is concerned, she made her own choices and as a result, is pregnant... I heard a caller on one of the news programs today say "there is something wrong at home." Well, the Pro-Abortionists (most DemocRATS) need to be reminded that there is something very wrong in a home where women (I won't call them moms) decide to abort pregnancies of special needs children and pregnancies deemed as inconvenient.

All things considered, I applaud Sarah Palin for having her baby as an older mom despite the knowledge of his problems. I've also heard her criticized for having a Downs baby (like she had any choice in his design). Obviously, God didn't think she was too old to have a baby even though people are going to say she should have known better because there are risks for getting pregnant later in life. Regardless, that's their business. Not any one else's. I for one am sick of people saying things like this is why older women shouldn't be having kids. Tell that to God! I dare them. This to the extreme exemplifies that Sarah Palin is pro-life. The critics can just deal with it.

I also applaud Sarah Palin, mother of an unwed teen daughter, for having the grace and dignity to live one day at a time and for trying to help her daughter do the same no matter how difficult this may be. She is not the first politician to have a pregnant teenage daughter. Once upon a time, politicians would have shipped their daughter off to some unknown aunt in some remote unknown place to have the baby and then put the baby up for adoption. The Palin Family has chosen to make the best of life.

Obviously, long before Sarah Palin, conservative, was selected as the VP, the Palin family was doing the right thing and walking the conservative walk they are now politically advocating. Imagine that, a politician that actually practices what they preach!? I find no fault with the human failings of this family. It makes them VERY real. May God prosper them in spite of the critics that want to publicly critique every past personal decision they have ever made with the intent of political slander!

You would think the Democrats would be the first in line to praise the accomplishments, determination, and roll-up-her sleeves attitude of this mom, politician, business woman, athlete, etc. She personifies all the feminist ideals with a most conservative fleece around it all. Need I say, this has left many liberals totally unable to grasp or have a clue about who this woman really is.

Her opponents made no hesitation to attack her resume and credentials. This was all to no avail as her record speaks volumes about her beliefs and successes and 13± years experience of elected office and has nothing to do with her qualifications to be Vice President of the United States. Now sadly, rather than go to school on what is right about Sarah Palin, they are going to get petty and try to tear her down by belittling her family and her personal choices and decisions.

My opinion is this: I'm willing (perhaps foolishly) to give this woman the benefit of the doubt, and also believe (though I’m not sure why) we have yet to see the best of Sarah Palin. The critics can just deal with it. Obviously, based on this morning’s headlines her critics can't deal with it.
